Flu Updates

Learn about Who Needs A Flu Vaccine.

This year the flu vaccine includes protection against seasonal flu and H1N1 and comes in the form of an injection and a nasal mist spray.

  • The "flu shot" - an inactivated vaccine (containing killed virus) that is given with a needle, usually in the arm. The flu shot is approved for use in people older than 6 months, including healthy people and people with chronic medical conditions.

  • The nasal-spray flu vaccine -a vaccine made with live, weakened flu viruses that do not cause the flu (sometimes called LAIV for "live attenuated influenza vaccine" or FluMist®). LAIV (FluMist®) is approved for use in healthy people 2-49 years of age who are not pregnant.

You may request an appointment by clicking the appointment link from the home page.

If you already have an appointment scheduled for a well child visit between now and late November, you do not need to schedule a separate appointment for a flu vaccine.

For Parents and Caregivers: We will have a better understanding of our supply by early November, please check with us then as to whether we can accommodate you.
