Directions

The entrance to our office is on 96th Street, between Park and Lexington Avenues. We are on the ground floor, just to the right of the elevators.

By subway: Take the number 6 train to 96th Street. We are one block west of the train station.

By bus: Our office is easily accessible by several different bus routes. The M98, M101, M102, and M103 run up Third Avenue and down Lexington to 96th Street. You can also take the M1, M2, M3, or M4 up Madison Avenue or down Fifth Avenue to 96th Street. If you are coming from the West Side, the M96 runs across 96th Street to Park Avenue.

By car: There are metered spots in the neighborhood surrounding the office. Pay attention to the signs as they do ticket frequently. There are several parking garages located nearby. The one on Lexington Avenue between 99th and 100th Streets is safe and fairly reasonably priced.

Office Hours

Our office is generally open from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Appointments are scheduled for routine exams as well as for sick children during these hours. If your child is sick on a weekend or holiday and needs to be seen by a physician, please call our answering service between 10 and 11 am and we will arrange to have your child seen that day. There is an additional charge for weekend and after hour visits.

Telephone Calls

In order to minimize holding times on the phone, please call between 8:00 and 10:00 am if you need a sick visit for that day. If you are calling about a routine matter or to schedule a well child visit, we ask that you call in the middle of the day, between 11:30 and 2:00, when the office is not as busy.

Urgent calls are returned as soon as possible, routine calls as time permits. Emergency calls are referred to the doctors at all times.

In the event of an emergency, clearly explain the problem to the receptionist and your call will be given top priority. After hours, on weekends, or on holidays, state the nature of the emergency and leave your phone number with the answering service. Please call back if you do not receive a return phone call within 20 minutes.

If you need to speak with a doctor and a message is left with the answering service or the receptionist and your call is not returned within a reasonable period of time, please check back with us. Occasionally, a phone number or message may be incorrectly dictated or copied.

Appointments

Office hours are by appointment only

Checkups: Routine check-ups are recommended throughout infancy, childhood, and adolescence to evaluate general health, growth and development, and to receive immunizations.

We recommend check-ups at the following ages:

  • newborn (2 days after discharge)
  • 2-4 week
  • 2 months
  • 4 months
  • 6 months
  • 9 months
  • 12 months
  • 15 months
  • 18 months
  • 2 years
  • Once a year around your child's birthday beginning at 2 years

If there are concerns, especially during the first few months, your doctor may recommend that your child be seen more frequently. Appointments for routine "well child" exams should be made four to eight weeks in advance. Newborn exams should be scheduled at the beginning of office hours to avoid a crowded waiting room caused by backup delays. Yearly physicals should be scheduled during the month of your child's birthday to avoid school and camp time rushes in May, June, August, and September.

Follow-up examinations: Follow-up appointments for illness visits should be made at the time of the initial exam.

Sick visits: Children requiring attention on a given day will be seen on that same day. If your child is ill and needs to be examined, please call between 8:30 and 9:00 am on weekdays to schedule an appointment. If your physician is unavailable at any time, another doctor will be able to examine your child.

Hospitals

Each physician holds attending staff privileges at Mount Sinai Hospital and is a member of the Department of Pediatrics at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. If your child needs to be seen in the emergency room, we will refer you to the pediatric emergency room at Mount Sinai Hospital (located at Madison Avenue and 99th Street.) If your child is admitted overnight, we will visit your child each day and continue to care for your child while he is in the hospital. If your child is hospitalized at another location we can usually recommend a physician on staff.

Camp/School Forms

We are happy to fill out camp and school forms for your child. Please provide a self-addressed stamped envelope and we will mail the form back to you within 10 business days. There is a one-time annual fee of $20.00 per child for processing and completion of unlimited forms for the year.
